Working 13hr shifts four to five times a week for the duration of my pregnancy took its toll not just mentally but physically.
I was recommended to book in for an antenatal massage at ‘Mothers Inc’. I got in touch and was offered a 60 minute massage in return for a review, so here it is!
I didn’t really know what to expect as I have only experienced massages whilst laying on my front!
As soon as I stepped into Mothers Inc I felt at home. It was just like being in my meditation corner! Their defuser filled the room with long lasting but not over powering scents which made me feel at peace and at ease.
The masseuse greeted me with a warm smile and offered me a glass of water. We then went through the health questionnaire. I am glad we did this as it made the experience personal to me and my needs without going into too much depth but ensured I would be safe.
I called out when I was ready and I was asked if I was comfortable before my massage began. The massage was firm yet gentle and as each knot was released I exhaled that much more.
Without going into too much detail on this post, my pregnancy wasn’t the easiest. Having 60 minutes of ‘me time’, without the worries and drama of the outside world; Mothers Inc created a relaxing and peaceful ambiance and gave me the breathing space I needed to focus on myself and the little tadpole I was growing inside me.
Mothers inc isn’t just for expectant mothers although it does specialise in pregnancy massage and maternity reflexology. Mothers Inc also has an onsite creche so that you can enjoy your treatment and get a moment to yourself without the worry of entertaining your offspring.
As women we are often too hard on ourselves and do not give ourselves enough self-love. If you’re anything like me, you spend your days overthinking and constantly second guessing yourself. The constant chatter in my mind calmed and I found myself drifting into a world where all my worries and concerns were washed away.
