Happy January my darlings,

I cannot express to you how excited I have been for the New Year; ‘new year, new me’ is always the quote falling off peoples lips this time of year and now I have become that annoying creature shouting the same words from the rooftops!

This year I really want to make it my focus to be more interactive with my audience and embrace every experience in a mindful state of mind. So what better way to start the first weekend of 2017 attending the Vegan Life Live weekender down at Ally Pally?!

It was so refreshing to experience this weekend with my non-vegan friends as they were able to be introduced to a vegan lifestyle without feeling pressured into ‘converting’; but to gain knowledge and information into a healthier way of life.

Vegan Life Live was bursting with talks from inspirational vegan figures, food and drink demonstrations, vegan films and a range of delicious food to try and buy from all over the world; highlighting that being a vegan does not have to be a struggle and it is not discriminative to race nor culture as there was a food stall from near enough every continent of the world.

I was lucky enough to attend both Saturday and Sunday gaining something different from each day. Shamefully on Saturday I did not attend any of the talks due to getting carried away at the stalls, collecting samples and talking to the stallholders. However I was able to watch demonstrations from the likes of ‘King Cook Daily’ and ‘Mindful Chef’. I honestly have not eaten as much in one day as I did on Saturday; I literally tried something from every stall.

Sunday I arrived a lot earlier and attended a presentation in the ‘Veganuary’ area; I was surrounded by like-minded souls and they offered a safe space for vegans and non-vegans to ask questions and raise concerns without being judgemental, which I found extremely useful. I made a few connections and I am pleased to say we are still in contact now!

I later wondered to the Vita Coco Kitchen and watched a demonstration and talk by Juliette Bryant on Super-foods which was full of passion and very interactive. When my friends arrived we headed straight to the Food Court to line our stomachs for the rest of the afternoon. After filling our bellies we were well and truly ready to pass out.

I want to say a massive thank you to Vegan Life Magazine for making this happen as it realigned my passion for why I am Vegan!
